Bikram Yoga

Bikram Yoga Beginner Yoga Class   is a series of 26 traditional hatha yoga postures designed to scientifically warm and stretch muscles ligaments and tendons in the order in which they should be stretched.  Bikram Yoga's 26 posture sequence systematically moves fresh oxygenated blood to 100% of your body, to each organ, fiber and cell restoring all systems to healthy working order just as Nature intended..  Proper weight, muscle tone, vibrant good health and a sense of well being will automatically follow.

Your Progress

How quickly you progress will depend entirely on you-upon your natural ability to a small extent but also on the time and effort you give to the yoga. It will have little to do with how perfect you can do the postures.  Few of us ever do the postures perfectly. Instead it will have to do with how well you understand what you are trying to accomplish in each post, how you try to accomplish your goal and how supple your muscles and joints have become in comparison to when you began.

In Yoga there is no comparison except to yourself. To be "Perfect" in Yoga means to do the best that you can.

Great for beginners or anyone who wants to add a second workout to their day. and anyone with a limited amount of time in their schedule. One hour class is one set of the traditional Bikram Yoga sequence with 2 sets of Pranayama breathing at the beginning and 2 sets of Kaphala breathing at the end.

 

HOT PILATES        

Mon & Wed  6:00PM    Th  7:00PM     Sat  3:00PM        Meant for beginners           60 min.                                                                                                                                                                                                              High Intensity Movement using Pilates and Yoga postures. It's a full body workout designed to strengthen muscles especially CORE and improve overall health and help to lose weight fast.       Great compliment to a Bikram Yoga practice.                                Lots of fun and very energizing.


 

Yin Yoga      

Mon  7:15PM   Sat  10:30PM  Thurs  9:30AM   Meant for beginners           75 min                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Passive form of yoga performed in a warm room.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               Postures done mainly on the mat. Yin Yoga is unique in that you are asked to go into a posture, soften the muscle  and focus on relaxation.                                                                                                    Yin offers deep access to the body. Postures are held longer to allow access to deep tissue.   The time spent in these postures is much like the time spent in meditation.


HOT VINYASA                                                                      

Vinyasa is the Sanskrit term for flow and refers to alignment of breath and movement to create a dynamic, flowing form of yoga.                                                                                                                                  Like Bikram Yoga, Vinyasa is Hatha Yoga based. Poses are held for a specific number of breaths before moving on to the next pose.                                                                                                                        Room is heated though not as hot as a BIkram class. Postures create a yoga dance and breath is coordinated with the movements.                                                                                                                       Our Vinyasa is meant for beginners and is challenging.   You will Sweat!

Classes are 60 minutes and room is heated.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Tuesdays at 5:30PM Wednesdays 9:30AM


YinYasa

YinYasa is a combination of 60 min of hot dynamic vinyasa flow followed by a calming 30 min of Yin Yoga postures. The combination is meant to energize then relax you. Vinyasa speeds up your circulation bringing fresh blood to all parts of the body. Then the Yin portion calms you down and works on opening the joints and connective tissue. All this is followed by Itsa’s special calming lavender cooling towels.

90 min long and room is heated Fridays at 5:30PM

Sivananda Yoga cancelled for the summer

Sivananda Yoga is a complete healing system designed to help the body maintain a natural healthy state. Sivananda involves frequent relaxation and emphasizes full, yogic breathing                 A typical Sivananda Yoga class involves 12 basic postures that seek to increase strength, flexibility, proper breathing, and ease in meditation.   Mantra at the beginning and end of yoga classes  Longer holding of postures.  Pranayamas at the beginning or end of class   An overall awareness and focus on breathing and the pranic dimensions of the practice           

Classes are 90 minutes and the room is not Hot.
